Corporate Responsibilities
ATC conducts business in an ethical and principled manner, while aggressively pursuing new developments, achievements, solutions or market breakthroughs. We work with like-minded partners who seek to gain mutual success. We are striving to increase the utilization of businesses owned by minorities, women and disabled veterans in our supply chain.
Additionally, ATC understands it has responsibilities that extend beyond business, reaching into the community and beyond. We support and participate in programs and initiatives that we believe to be vital to the communities in which we work and live.
Environmental Responsibility
The preservation and revitalization of the earth and its valuable natural resources are primary concerns at ATC. We believe it is important to conduct all business in a manner that minimizes environmental impact.
ATC Logistics & Electronics not only helps our customers in their efforts to be more environmentally responsible, we also take our own role seriously. In the last several years, ATC Logistics & Electronics has taken significant measures to ensure that we are reducing our carbon footprint. In 2008, ATC Logistics & Electronics reduced our carbon footprint by 10% through the initiatives listed below.
- Replacing 421 HID lamps with energy efficient T-5 lamps; recycling all corrugated, paper and plastic; and packaging carton redesign. These initiatives had the following equivalents in emissions reductions:
- Barrels of oil not burned - 9,528
- Cars taken off the road - 750
- Gallons of gas not consumed - 465,035
- Energy used by this number of homes - 362
- Replacing single use water bottles with reusable thermal cups had the following equivalents in emissions reductions:
- Cars taken off the road - 3
- Gallons of gas not consumed - 1,700
- 20,000 kWh
Additionally, ATC Logistics & Electronics reclaims approximately 120,000 batteries/year, utilizes environmentally friendly cleaning supplies, and offers employees a van pool program.
On an annual basis ATC Drivetrain recycles rather than landfills:
- Metric tons of steel - 1,755
- Metric tons of mixed aluminum/iron - 830
- Metric tons of cast iron - 578
- Metric tons of mixed engine parts - 333
- Metric tons of other categories - 316
Significantly, through our remanufacturing process, we salvage and then reuse over 17,000 metric tons of metals and other materials. This is the ultimate in recycling as we turn the old into new again.
These efforts complement corporate-wide green initiatives that further illustrate our commitment to the environment.
- Creation and implementation of best practices including energy consumption, carbon emissions and energy conservation by recycling and reusing resources and materials.
- Operations company-wide are ISO 14001 or equivalent certified, which specifies requirements for establishing an environmental policy and executing programs to minimize negative environmental impact.
We conduct our business in ways that protect and preserve the environment. We build environmental stewardship into our business decisions.
